We all need diligence to seek God. The exemplary life of Jesus Christ should teach us diligence. The business of our Heavenly Father must be handled with all seriousness. Jesus’ aims and objectives were to accomplish the will of His Father. He knew His focus and goal was to please the One who sent Him. Any work that promotes the gospel should be taken very seriously. We must be highly dedicated to God’s call, so we can be crowned at the end of our journey. “And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed,” (Mark 1:35).
There’s time for everything and time should be used judiciously. It must be used for functional activities, which glorifies God and not on frivolous things. As believers we must create time to engage in spiritual pursuits that will assist our spiritual growth. We must not joke with prayers and Bible studies. We must also be diligent in doing good things.
We diligently seek God in faith if we want something from Him. Unbelief robs man of God’s goodness. Faith in God makes you not to give up hope. It helps you to be very resilient and determined. The promises of God can be inherited through faith and patience. All the commandments of God must be kept diligently. And it shall come to pass, if ye shall obey diligently unto my commandments, which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, that I will give you the rain of your land in its due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that you may gather your corn, and your wine, and your oil,” (Deuteronomy 11:13-14).
We must always remember His goodness whenever we are facing any challenge(s). We must always have a heart of gratitude at all times. By doing so our maker will be pleased with us. Our heart must search diligently for God and His truth. The more we walk with God, the more we know about Him. Humility, perseverance, steadfastness can help us in achieving this goal. We should not be satisfied with our current level of spirituality, but we should always aspire and work towards more improvement in Christ. It pays to labor for Jesus Christ; because there can never be any regrets. God can never forget your work and labor of love because He’s too righteous not to remember. You must show and minister the love of God to everyone around you. You must exhibit the act of kindness and generosity, as you are the image of the living God.
There should be self-examination to detect one’s diligence to God. We have been called to preach the gospel without season. With long-suffering, we should not be afraid to reprove, rebuke and exhort the world, according to the word of God. Honestly, the faith, which has been once delivered to us, must be contended for. We must diligently stand firm on God’s word. It is mandatory that God’s word be taught to our children and children’s children. They must meditate on His words day and night, so as to abound in God’s love, knowledge and grace. Being diligent in the service of God is never in vain as it preserves one from evil. Be steadfast, immovable and thrive in God’s work. In Christianity, diligence leads to assured hope until the end of time. The Lord rewards those who diligently seek for Him.
In your lawful and personal business, you must be diligent. Ecclesiastes 9:10 says: “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”
When you complain that your personal business is not doing well, you need to search yourself to know if you are the cause. Some people are not successful in their works because of lack of interest, dishonesty, laziness, lateness and many more.
They possess bad attitudes that can destroy their businesses and chase customers away. You cannot blame God for your own misdeeds and misfortunes. Whatever job God has put in your hands, it does not matter how demeaning or small it is, do it with all diligence and see God prospering the work of your hands. Conduct your job with passion, dignity and pride.
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business?” He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men” (Proverbs 22:29).
